Walking in the Direction of Dreams

I think back on the first day of this course, I guess I was insecure, I felt I couldn't cope with the tasks, I'm still feeling the same. However, everytime I face a difficulty I console myself thinking that the true path to success is through the fear of failure. If you aren't scared enough of failing, you are unlikely to succeed. I think all of us experience it.    My motto for this course is " take a leap of faith and just do it."
Thus, these days I've learnt a lot of things which pave the way for changes in my teaching. I've found out some other search engines which prove to be great sources of information. I'll recommend all of them to my students so that they may improve their ways of searching on the Internet and build some new ideas. Besides I've created some objectives in ABCD style which is fantastic.
   I'll write later...

  1. Hello there Tanya,

I certainly agree with the various statements you present.

When you say "If you aren't scared enough of failing, you are unlikely to succeed" I believe that to. I was, as I've said before, a little daunted and disheartened at the beginning. Everything was so new and different that it did frighten me. (I still feel that way.) But as I started reading the documents Robert had for us, I became aware that a whole new world was opening up for me. I would never see teaching as a whole (pedagogically speaking) and teaching English with the same eyes again. Then I thought that I may never have the same opportunity in life again. Also, I thought that in doing this course I would have new pedagogical methods to pass on to my colleagues and masters students. Then naturally, I went on to think about the ways I could change and better my teaching practice and knew that it would be excellent for my students and that I could really better their learning. So, I decided to "stick to my guns" and to "take a leap of faith and just do it" as you say.

So here I am. I've decided to take a day at a time. I also decided that I had to take stock and organise my professional work and personal life in a different way. And that is how I'm getting along and coping.

    Good luck to you.

  2. Hi Tanya,

You're doing a great work so, you don't have to worry that much.
Everyday gives us a new experience, I'm sure you will make good use of your experiences.

I also enjoyed exploring the search engines and writing objectives using ABCD method.

    Wish you the best,
    Naglaa
